KPKP Agency Checks Qurban Animals at Three Ports

The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Agency (KPKP) has started examining qurban animals at the ports of Jakarta and Tangerang that will go to Seribu Islands.

We will ensure that all qurban animals sent to residential areas are in good health

Seribu Islands KPKP Sub-agency Head, Devi Lidya said around eight health workers were deployed to examine the qurban animals. It had been carried out from October 26 to 28, 2023.

"Health workers have been deployed at Muara Angke, Rawa Saban, and Tanjung Pasir ports. They are the starting points for the departure of qurban animals," she said, Monday (6/26).

From Muara Angke port, there were two cattle that would be departed for Sebira Island in good health and in accordance with the Shari'a.

While at other ports, until now, there have been no qurban animals. It is predicted that the animals will come on D-2 of Idul Adha.

"It is planned that tomorrow as many as 19 cows and 13 goats will be departed from Muara Angke Port. Our health team is also ready to carry out on-site inspections," she uttered.

She added the examination carried out included testing blood samples, checking the legs to the tooth structure. Besides ensuring that the age of the animal is in accordance with the prescribed Shari'a.

"We will ensure that all qurban animals sent to residential areas are in good health and have no abnormalities," he stated.
